CP&R Honored Twice by ICRI-BW Chapter

Yesterday (November 7, 2014), was a very important day for CP&R for two reasons. First, our senior Project Manager, Patrick O’Malley, received an award from the ICRI-BW Chapter for all his efforts in promoting and encouraging people to participate in the chapter while also maintaining his efforts to give back to the community.

Secondly, CP&R won first place on the ICRI-BWC 2014 Outstanding Repair Project Award with the Mount Carmel Municipal Authority Wastewater Treatment Plant SBR Tank #1 Repair project. The MCMA Wastewater Treatment Plant was built in 1975 and it was originally designed for 1.5 mgd average daily flow & 2,500 lbs/day of organic capacity, but on September 2011, the devastation of Hurricane Sandy played its toll on the SBR Tank #1 causing slab buckling, foundation movements, foundation wall displacement, walkway displacement, and column structural damage.  Therefore, from May 2013 to January 2014, CP&R performed a $1M repair on the SBR Tank #1. Repair sequencing was systematically designed to stabilize the structure while allowing the adjacent tanks to stay in full operation as well as to not jeopardize the structural integrity of the post-tension foundation slab and walkway bridges.
